On Sunday, December 8, Wake Foresters across the world lit candles, brewed coffee and distributed sweet buns to join those on campus in celebrating the University’s 60th annual Moravian Lovefeast. For our Atlanta, Houston, St. Petersburg-Tampa and Washington, D.C. communities, this celebration took the shape of community volunteers who organized livestream viewings for Wake Foresters in their areas.

The community viewings featured anything from potluck dinners to arts and crafts. In Atlanta, elves created magic out of face paint and balloons to entertain children and adults alike before the livestream. In Washington, D.C., community members took the spirit of the season a step further and spread Pro Humanitate through their attendance, bringing donations of gloves, underwear and socks to support Georgetown Ministry Center.

Wherever it was viewed and however it was celebrated, these gatherings exemplified the message of love at the heart of the Lovefeast. We hope to support your community in celebrating the beauty of the Lovefeast next December (reach out to learn more). Until then, happy holidays and best wishes in the new year!
