A native of Greensboro and second generation Wake Forest alumnus, Paul Wingate (’92, P ’27) grew up in a Wake Forest family and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology in 1992. After earning an MBA at UNC Greensboro in 2001, Wingate’s love and passion for Wake Forest and the desire to work closer to home led him back to Wake Forest and University Advancement where he has been since September 2007.

Paul lives in Greensboro with his wife Brook (’95). Their daughter Kate (’27) is thriving in her second year at Wake Forest. He and Brook are active members at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Paul is also a former Greensboro Urban Ministry board member, the founder of F3 Greensboro and a member of the Greensboro Sports Council.

In his time in University Advancement, Paul began on the regional development team where he worked in Chicago, Charlotte and the Triad, then moved to the School of Law to work as the Assistant Dean of Development before returning to regional development where he served on the North Carolina team. He has now come full circle as he leads engagement efforts in both WAKEChicago and WAKEGreensboro. Paul is thrilled not only to return to the Windy City and build a strong community for Wake Foresters there but also to be able to lead Wake Forest’s effort in his hometown of Greensboro.
